The viral nature of learning and teaching Minecraft, or Loombands, lies in the surrounding ecosystems of sharing. In my classroom settings I have tried to recreate this. So far Google Communities has been a favourite of students. When we conducted a review of the many Portfolio systems I had tested with them over the years, my use of OneNote many years ago came up as a favourite. They liked that I had written in step by step fill in the blank type instructions. At that time we didn’t have the sharing aspect, which I now understand is the most powerful part of the process.
I like the guided steps in this OneNote template. You could step students through the process of making a group contract, the creation process, draft, final and sharing choices. Now that OneNote works in a browser, with sharing options, Google Docs has some competition.
